Adam Townsend’s story is one of persistence. One that eventually led to his debut album being produced by the Grammy nominated producer Andrija Tokic (Alabama Shakes, Langhorne Slim, Benjamin Booker). Hailing from Tucson, AZ, this old soul was raised in a musical family; growing up with equal helpings of The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, and Otis Redding. His unquenchable desire to pursue a musical career finally led to recording a full length album in the iconic Nashville, TN. Teaming up with the producer Andrija Tokic and a few incredibly talented session musicians like Jeremy Fetzer & Jon Estes, his debut album “All My Fires” came out in June 2019.
The album received rave reviews in his home state. Eric Danton, a writer with Paste and Rolling Stone had this to say, “[Adam does] a good job fusing a vintage sensibility with a latter-day sound, and the songs are definitely catchy”. The album was called “one of the best Arizona albums of the year” by the YabYum blog. His smooth soulful vocals have drawn comparisons to Van Morrison, Michael Kiwanuka, & Eric Hutchinson. His debut single “Beautiful Life” landed a spot in Starbucks in store music rotation across the country. Jonathan Fhram had this to say about his debut: “Standing adjacent to proven singer-songwriters like Ray LaMontagne and Rayland Baxter, big things are coming for this thriving indie tunesmith.” – TheYoungFolks.com
